RESEARCH

The Division of Research and Development provides its services in all sub-sectors of transport. It is focusing mainly on the problems of strategic and transport planning, intelligent and integrated transport systems, traffic surveys and traffic engineering, including the development of micro and macro traffic models, economic and financial evaluation of transport infrastructure, measurement and assessment of the environmental impacts of the transport, climate change and its impact on transport projects, asset management systems of infrastructure managers, transport safety, diagnostics and passportization of transport infrastructure and other.
The company is active in following transport modes:

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT
  • Automatic mobile station - monitoring of air quality, noise and vibration, which also includes additional equipment for monitoring of meteorological parameters, traffic noise, vibrations, traffic flow characteristics and monitoring of particulate matters
  • ATC (Automatic Traffic Counters) – performance of measurements to record traffic flow characteristics
  • Complex camera system - UnicamVELOCITY and UnicamREDLIGHT system cameras to limit the factors contributing to the occurrence of traffic accidents

SOFTWARE EQUIPMENT
  • ESRI ArcGIS -  complete system for designing and managing solutions through the application of geographic knowledge. It enables you to perform deep analysis, gain a greater understanding of your data, and make more informed high-level decisions.
  • AIMSUN - (Advanced Interactive Microscopic Simulator for Urban and Non-Urban Networks) - software tool able to create a computer model of realistic traffic situations in any transport network.
  • HDM-4 - (Highway and Development Management Tool) - software for road management focusing on assessment of economic effectiveness of road constructions and their maintenance and technical-economical evaluation of roads and motorways projects' effectiveness.
  • @RISK - Software tool for risk analysis through the Monte Carlo simulation model, shows many possible outcomes in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet—and tells how likely they are to occur. This means you can judge which risks to take and which ones to avoid, allowing for the best decision making under uncertainty. It calculates e.g. the sensitiveness of financial or economic Net Present Value on the fluctuation of particular input flows.
  • AutoCAD - Tool for design of 2D concepts, details, design documents and basic 3D designs used in the field of concept designing of transport constructions.
  • ArcGIS Network Analyst - dynamic modelling using realistic entry conditions, optimisation of traffic surveys
  • Transyt - design, modelling and optimisation of complex transport networks
  • MEFA - calculation of emissions based on traffic data (traffic modelling, automatic traffic counters) and road parameters
  • Hluk+ - development of precise models of noiese emissions, calculation of detailed isophones and emission diagrams
